On June 3, AHCCCS held a town hall meeting during which they shared their current plans for ending the COVID-19 Flexibilities, including one that allows parents to be Direct Care Workers (DCW) for their children.
A specific end date for the DCW flexibility has not been set, AHCCCS stated that it would coincide with the end of the Public Health Emergency, which is not expected to occur until after the end of 2021.
Though the DCW flexibility has been popular with parents, AHCCCS itself does not have the authority to extend the flexibility because Federal regulations do not permit parents to be Direct Care Workers for their own children.
