Raising Special Kids and Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary Club once again teamed up to host the Good Morning, Great Cause breakfast at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch to benefit Raising Special Kids and Special Day for Special Kids.
A perennial favorite, Luis Serna assisted RSK Assistant Executive Director Janna Murrell as emcee of the event. Guests enjoyed a delicious breakfast in a beautiful setting while listening to inspiring stories from self-advocate Liam Tubman and parent and RSK staff member Angelica Lara.
Liam shared his journey of successfully advocating for himself to retain his rights rather than be placed under guardianship.
Angelica shared her family story of her three boys and their journeys through diagnoses and medical and educational challenges. Her boys have been attending Special Day for Special Kids for more than a decade and her oldest son will be joining as a volunteer this year.
