Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Raising Special Kids will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.
Employment
Raising Special Kids does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices, and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA. Employment discrimination complaints can be made to the Human Resources Department at (602-242-4366 (voice) or 7-1-1 to use the Arizona Relay Service (TTY).
Effective Communication
Raising Special Kids is committed to providing access to our electronic and information technology, including our web pages, for individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law. The Organization is committed to ensuring that members of the public with disabilities and our employees with disabilities have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to the access and use by members of the public and our employees who are not individuals with disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed upon us.
If you have a disability and the format of any material on our web pages interferes with your ability to access the information, please contact the organization’s Communications Department at communications@raisingspecialkids.org. Your request will be referred to the appropriate organization contact, who will respond to your request. To enable us to respond in a manner most helpful to you, please indicate the nature of the accessibility problem, the web address of the requested material, your preferred format in which you want to receive the material (electronic format (ASCII, etc.), standard print, large print, etc.), and your contact information.
Modifications to Policies and Procedures
Raising Special Kids will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in our programs, services, and activities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcomed in our offices, even where pets are generally prohibited.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity, should contact our Communications Department using the information on this page as soon as possible but no later than two (2) business days before the scheduled event. To the extent possible, additional reasonable accommodations will be made available within the time constraints of the request.
The ADA does not require Raising Special Kids to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of our programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.
Raising Special Kids will not place a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids/services or reasonable modifications of policy. For example, Raising Special Kids will not charge to retrieve items from locations that are open to the public but are not accessible to persons who use wheelchairs.
Complaints that a Raising Special Kids program, service, or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the ADA Coordinator for Raising Special Kids by emailing info@raisingspecialkids.org to the attention of the Assistant Executive Director, or by calling 602-242-4366 (voice) or 7-1-1 to use the Arizona Relay Service (TTY), and asking for the Assistant Executive Director.
