Developmental Milestones

Every child is unique. No two children develop, grow, and learn at exactly the same pace. Yet children generally develop in predictable ways. Below are links to lists of developmental milestones by age. Babies and toddlers are growing, learning and changing all the time. It’s fun to watch! We suggest you take notes and keep track of the new things they do and the milestones they reach.

Services to support young children who may have developmental delays are different depending on their age. There are two age groups:

If you notice that your child under the age of three is not meeting some of their developmental milestones, we recommend contacting Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) for an evaluation. Your child may benefit from services and therapies designed to help improve their development.

Developmental Milestones for Children 3 to 5 Years Old

Children from age 3 to age 5 who have developmental delays receive services from their local school district through their preschool program.
