Sharing the Same Frustrations and Joys

Ellen remembers being told not to worry during her son Jack’s 18-month-old checkup whenBlack and white photo of Jack holding up a fake mustache she mentioned that her son was not using any words.  After three more months passed with no words, the doctor recommended an Early Intervention Evaluation.

Jack began receiving speech and occupational therapies, and it was during one of those sessions that Ellen learned about Raising Special Kids.   Ellen found the workshops to be very helpful and attended “as many as I could!”  She learned how to work with Jack’s school to get appropriate services for him.

She noted, “Many families share the same frustrations and joys in raising a child with special needs.”  Adding that the workshops she attended allowed her to become “the ‘go-to’ parent at our school and I recommend Raising Special Kids to other families”
