As we near the end of the first quarter of the 2024-25 school year, our team has been busier than ever. We remain committed to providing individual assistance, hosting public workshops, and collaborating with partners at community outreach events across the state. Your ongoing engagement and support of Raising Special Kids have been crucial in advancing our mission.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to our lead article on Arizona legislation ensuring continued learning for students with chronic health conditions. The piece also highlights the importance of chronic health forms, a mechanism used by many schools to support these students. Your insights and shared experiences have underscored the vital role these forms play in helping students with disabilities and their families.
Research consistently shows that when parents and professionals work together toward shared goals, children achieve better educational, developmental, and behavioral outcomes. We especially thank Patricia Dean, Sarah Ordway, Lisa Potts and Molly Wright for sharing their personal experiences as parents. Additionally, we are grateful to Wendy Mann, Sandy Young, Todd Liolios, Michelle Wood, and Sarah Kacer for contributing their knowledge and expertise to support families raising children with disabilities.
Alongside our daily work, we’ve spent nearly three years updating our organization’s branding and refining our core messaging. This effort has included a thoughtful review of our name. In the coming months, we are excited to begin sharing the results of this process with you. We are preparing for a special announcement in spring 2025, which will mark a significant new chapter for our organization.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our shared mission. Your dedication allows us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
