Tracey Sullivan first became interested in working with children with special health care needs when her nephew was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, language delays and autism.

Things may have changed since Angelica Lara first started working at Raising Special Kids almost eight years ago but one of them is not her optimistic, diligent and creative approach to helping families – including her own

After a career full of helping children and families, Nilda Townsend credits her own children as her biggest influences. Nilda retires this summer after nine years as a Family Support Specialist at Raising Special Kids, and she will be dearly missed!

Having recently returned to Raising Special Kids as Project Manager, Wendi said, “As much as I loved working for GPS, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to Raising Special Kids; it feels like home!

Despite the good news, Nannette found herself overwhelmed and paralyzed with fear. An amazing NICU nurse referred her to Raising Special Kids who offered support, guidance, and, most importantly, a connection to another parent who had a child with spina bifida.
